Affiliate disclosure & estimates disclaimer
How this site makes money
FL StormPower Guide participates in affiliate programs. That means if you click a product link on this site and buy something, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. Recommendation slots are clearly labeled. Our calculator results and buying guides are written to be useful whether or not you ever click a link.
What our estimates are (and aren’t)
Every cost figure on this site is a planning rangecompiled from 2026 Florida market data and general engineering figures. They are starting points for your own research — not quotes, not bids, and not a substitute for professional advice. Actual costs depend on your home, your county’s codes and fees, material prices at the time, and the contractor you choose.
We are not licensed electricians or contractors. Electrical work in Florida must be performed by licensed professionals and permitted through your local building department. Always get at least two itemized, in-person quotes before committing to an installation.
Safety
Generator safety guidance on this site reflects widely published safety standards (never operate fuel-burning generators indoors, keep 20+ feet from the home, never backfeed without a transfer switch or interlock). When in doubt, consult a licensed electrician and your generator’s manufacturer manual.
